Centre Shines Light on Safety

Warminster Sports Centre is using this week to raise awareness of how to stay safe in the water. The campaign is part of the national water safety week.

The centre has shared the Royal Life Saving Society UK's Water Safety Code, urging the community to take precautions while enjoying water activities.The code emphasizes four key steps: "Stop and Think," which advises assessing surroundings and researching potential dangers; "Stay Together," recommending swimming with friends or family at lifeguarded venues; "Call 999," instructing to seek help from Fire and Rescue or the Coastguard and never attempt rescues alone; and "Float," which encourages staying calm and floating if in trouble, and helping others by throwing something that floats.
