The Feoffees of St Lawrence Chapel have supported plans to develop the site of 3 High Street. The Trustees say the new application addresses many of their historic concerns regarding the over development of the site.

At Warminster Town Council's Planning Advisory meeting, Chair of Trustees Ian Frostick stated that there remained a number of items they wanted to be considered as planning conditions for the development. These include:

  • A survey of the main entrance pillars, gate, railing and wall to ensure they are safe;
  • Care taken with excavation due to possible historic burials and likely limited foundations of the Chapel;
  • Protection of the historic stain glass window;
  • Use of appropriate building materials and construction methods;
  • Appropriate waste management for the number of households.

Mr Frostick said: "The Feoffees are committed to working constructively with the owners of 3 High Street to develop this site."

Warminster Town Councillors voted to recommend 'no objection' to the application and endorsed the conditions set out by Mr Frostick.
