Dilys Davison-Acton
I love all sorts of genres of music, but I fell in love with jazz, swing and blues when watching old films in which some of the greats of these genres sang and played their instruments they were known for, from Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong to Old Blue Eyes and Glen Miller. I enjoyed the coolness of toe-tapping jazz, the hip-swinging and glam of big bands and the rhythm of blues. More current musicians are doing a fabulous job of making oldies new again - the likes of Jeff Goldblum, Rod Stewart, Diana Krall, and more, all putting their own stamp on some of the greatest tunes of the 1920s through to the 1960s.
